McLeod Certified Athletic Trainers work with many of the high school, college and professional teams in the region.
Athletic training goes beyond taping an ankle or applying ice. It involves educating the community, working with healthcare providers and improving quality of life for all athletes. Athletic Trainers educate and implement guidelines to make sports safer, helping prevent and assess injuries, and assist with rehabilitation. They also impact the immediate family of an injured athlete, coaches they work with and spectators.
McLeod Sports Medicine contracts with many area high schools and, during the spring season, offers a day of athletic pre-participation physicals for rising 9th through 12th grade athletes. For more information, call (843) 777-8167 or email email@example.com. Free physicals for athletes from all area high schools contracted with McLeod Sports Medicine are available annually. The athletes must be rising 9th through 12th graders for the upcoming sports seasons. The one day physicals are held at McLeod Family Medicine Center located on the McLeod Regional Medical Center campus at 555 East Cheves Street, Florence, SC.
From August to November, on Saturdays (8:30-10 a.m.) McLeod Orthopedic Specialists, Certified Athletic Trainers and Family Medicine Residents evaluate injuries, take X-rays, apply splints/braces and refer athletes for further treatment, if needed. Clinics are held at McLeod Family Medicine on Willwood Drive. Call (843) 777-8167 or email firstname.lastname@example.org, or email@example.com.
