McLeod Seacoast Brings Advanced Health Services to Horry & Brunswick Counties

Serving northern Horry County (SC) and southern Brunswick County (NC), McLeod Seacoast has 50 acute care beds, along with an expanding list of cardiac, women’s, surgical, orthopedic and other services. We have recently completed a new 9,600 sq. ft. Emergency Department that allows us to provide more streamlined services and includes new exam rooms and state-of-the-art trauma facilities.

McLeod Seacoast is currently in the construction phase of an additional expansion of 50 beds that will feature a new inpatient tower, new operating rooms, a same-day services suite, and a modern labor and delivery area.

As part of our growth strategy, we have expanded into the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach.

Generous giving to the McLeod Foundation also helps fund essential programs, services and equipment
supporting McLeod Seacoast.

  • McLeod Seacoast Serves a Dynamic, Growing Community

On July 11, 2011, the Board of the Loris Community Hospital District opened Seacoast Medical Center. Designed with the ideal health care experience in mind, the new inpatient addition consisted of 32 medical/surgical beds, a 10-bed progressive care unit and an 8-bed intensive care unit. In late 2011, the board of commissioners for Loris Community Hospital District entered into a partnership with McLeod Health. In 2012, the hospital changed its name to McLeod Seacoast. In June 2016, the new Emergency Department – double the size of the original – opened with new exam rooms and state-of-the-art trauma facilities.

  • Foundation Giving Funds Important Programs & Services

Gifts to the McLeod Foundation help fund essential programs, services and equipment supporting McLeod Seacoast. These efforts have been made possible by the generous gifts of individuals and community partners who believe in making quality healthcare available to everyone in our community.

Funds have been used to purchase a state of the art MRI, a Vein Viewer, a Billi Light for jaundice babies, and equipment and technology for Pediatric Rehabilitation.

Gifts made in support of the HOPE Fund (Helping Oncology Patients Everyday) provide funding for oncology patient support services and provide oncology staff with improved access for immediate assistance needs for their patients. Programs supported through this fund provide transportation and medication needs for patients with few resources and educational manuals and supplies. Find out more about the McLeod Foundation.
