** Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit is securely kept by the Forensic Services department. If a report is made within one year (30 days for spousal sexual assault), the kit will be sent to the law enforcement  agency in the jurisdiction where the crime occurred. If a report is not made within that time frame, the kit will be destroyed.
