McLEOD DILLION 22 JULY 2011

(7/22/11) – McLeod Medical Center Dillon is pleased to announce that Tosha McMillian has been named Supervisor of Nutrition Services. "I look forward to this new challenge. The Nutrition Services Department has a lot of potential for growth and development," said Tosha.

In her new role, Tosha will work closely with Paula Peck, Department Director, to oversee the day to day operations of the department while directly managing the kitchen area. "I will focus my time on managing for daily improvements," said Tosha. "Our goals will be built around continuous survey readiness and teamwork."

In her former role, Tosha had daily interactions with patients. "It has always been important to me to build a good relationship with my patients," said Tosha, who has patients that ask for her by name. "I have learned so much from my patients. They have taught me how to be patient, how to love someone I don’t even know, and how to read the expressions that people show," she said. "I will continue to interact with patients at some level."

The Nutrition Services Department is involved with patients across the organization, in every nursing unit. "Teamwork between departments results in the delivery of safe, effective patient care. Meeting the nutritional needs of patients is an important component in the healing process," said Tosha.

Tosha has worked at McLeod Dillon since 2003. "I love my job because I enjoy working with people. I am glad to have the opportunity to grow professionally here – close to home. Personal growth is one reason I chose this line of work."

Tosha has four years of prior experience in the food service industry. In previous training, she earned a certificate in office system technology, which will enhance her performance in her new job responsibilities.

Tosha, a native of Latta, SC, and a current resident of Little Rock, SC, has three girls, DyS’hania (age 11), Dasha-Miona (age 10) and Dameriana (age 8).
