Safe Kids Florence, led by McLeod Health, and Old Navy Promote Safety

McLEOD SAFE KIDS 7 JUNE 2010

(6/07/10) – Safe Kids Florence, led by McLeod Health, will join Old Navy from Monday, June 7 until Friday, June 11 to present programs which will promote safety for the children of our community.
•Monday, June 7 – Zumba Zoo classes will be held at Old Navy at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. Classes are 20 minutes each and are provided by McLeod Health and Fitness Center.

•Tuesday, June 8 – From 11 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., the McLeod Health Heart Reach and Child Reach ambulances will be on-site at Old Navy with ambulance tours and special safety information for kids (as available due to emergency transportation requirements). Kool Smiles will also share how to safely obtain a KOOL smile. All children will receive free KOOL smile tools.

•Wednesday, June 9 – Safe Kids Florence, led by McLeod Health, will host a bicycle rodeo from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Old Navy. Kids, bring your bicycle to participate! Free helmets will be provided by Safe Kids Florence. The City of Florence Police Department will make sure that each helmet fits properly. The Florence County Sheriff’s Office bicycle registry will also be provided.

•Friday, June 11 – Safe Kids Florence, led by McLeod Health, will host a Car Seat Safety Check from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Experts will be on-site at Old Navy to check car seats for proper installation.

Safe Kids Florence, led by McLeod Health, is responsible for a number of programs that are offered to Florence and the surrounding areas. Some of the programs offered include Community Health and Safety Fairs, Bicycle Rodeos, Safe Sitter, School Safety Fairs, Community Festivals and Events, Photo ID Cards for Kids, and Third Thursday with Kohl’s Cares for Kids.
