McLeod Women’s Care Clarendon has achieved certification as a Centering Pregnancy site by the Centering Healthcare Institute. Centering Pregnancy is a new approach to maternity care that brings patients out of the exam room and into a group setting with other expecting mothers who have similar due dates. Moms-to-be receive one-on-one time with their provider and then discuss a variety of topics to make healthier choices for themselves, their children and their families. The group setting helps lessen the feeling of isolation and stress, while building friendships and support systems. The group meets monthly for the first four sessions and then bi-weekly for the last six sessions.
