McLeod Physicians Appear on Live 95 Radio Program

Dr. Fred Krainin discusses the TAVR procedure with Ken Ard on Live 95.3 by skype on February 8.

In recognition of American Heart Month, McLeod Interventional Cardiologists Dr. Alan Blaker and Dr. Fred Krainin with McLeod Cardiology Associates appeared on the Live 95 “Good Morning Pee Dee” radio show hosted by Ken Ard on Thursday, February 8.

Dr. Krainin discussed Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) with Ard. TAVR is a minimally invasive procedure performed at McLeod Regional Medical Center that allows physicians to replace a patient’s diseased or damaged heart valve without removing the old valve. Dr. Blaker educated listeners on Congestive Heart Failure, a condition where the heart muscle is unable to pump enough blood through to meet the body’s need for blood and oxygen.
