(11/25/2013) McLeod Loris Seacoast was proud to have the spotlight on two of its very own physicians last Saturday, November 23, during Dancing with the Horry County Stars 2013. Dr. Christopher Po and Dr. Amanda Turbeville helped to raise more than $150,000 to benefit Horry County K-12 Foundation.
The Marina Inn at Grande Dunes was host to a record crowd and sixteen dance couples performing for the title and the chance to increase awareness and raise money for such a worthy cause.
After three months of dedicated and diligent practice and preparation, they each took the stage with their partners to show off all of their hard work. The first couple to earn a perfect score by receiving all tens, Dr. Po and his partner, Clara Formosa, finished in 4th place after a dance-off at the end of the evening. Dr. Turbeville and her partner, Jose Burgos, earned an outstanding 7th place finish.
"Everyone at McLeod Loris Seacoast is extremely proud of Dr. Po and Dr. Turbeville," said Dick Tinsley, Administrator of McLeod Loris Seacoast. "Two top ten finishes and the opportunity to raise money for education were very rewarding. They have worked extremely hard since August learning and practicing their dances and their hard work was apparent during each of their performances. They did a wonderful job and we appreciate their participation and all of their hard work."
