Douglas is a long-time member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and is very active in her local chapter. She has earned the distinction of being the first emergency room nurse at McLeod Loris Seacoast to receive her certification in emergency nursing.

"It is no surprise to me that Susan was recognized for excellence in nursing, "said Shannon Godwin, Emergency Department Director of Nursing at McLeod Loris Seacoast. "I am proud to have her as a member of our team of dedicated emergency nurses."

Each year, nurses across the state are nominated for this prestigious award.
