McLeod Loris Seacoast Foundation Receives CVS Caremark Community Grant to Benefit Pediatric Rehabilitation

(7/1/2013)  McLeod Loris Seacoast Foundation recently received a $1500 CVS Caremark Community Grant that will benefit the pediatric rehabilitation program at McLeod Seacoast. The grant was used to purchase playground equipment that will be instrumental in occupational and physical therapy exercises.

The mission of McLeod Seacoast Pediatric Services is closely aligned with "CVS Caremark All Kids Can", the company’s signature philanthropic program, which is committed to helping children of all abilities be the best that they can be in life.

Pediatric rehabilitation involves a wide variety of methods to treat pediatric disorders by improving motor skills, balance and coordination. McLeod Seacoast rehabilitation therapists are specialized in the diagnosis, treatment and management of infants, children and adolescents with a variety of congenital, developmental, neuromuscular, skeletal and/or acquired disorders/diseases.

"The CVS Caremark Community Grants Program supports organizations that truly make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families," said Hanley Wheeler, Senior Vice President, CVS/pharmacy WEST Operations.  "We are so proud of the impact McLeod Seacoast has made in the community and we look forward to working with them to fulfill their program’s mission."

McLeod Seacoast was selected to receive a grant through the CVS Caremark Community Grants 2013 grant application process.  CVS Caremark Community Grants are awarded to organizations that support children with disabilities and provide them with inclusive opportunities that encourage physical movement and play.  The goals of the All Kids Can program are to support children with disabilities by raising awareness in schools and in local communities about the importance of inclusion, creating greater opportunities for physical activity and play and providing access to medical rehabilitation and related services.
