McLeod Thoracic Surgeon Dr. Srinivas Kolla demonstrated the new robot at McLeod Regional Medical Center that is dedicated to surgical cases for lung disease and lung cancer on May 24 during a Thoracic Robotic Open House.

The new Da Vinci Robot is located in the McLeod Heart and Vascular Operating Rooms. Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery removes the need for a large incision and instead only requires small incisions. This gives the patient less discomfort, a faster recovery, and an earlier return to their quality of life.
