McLeod Health welcomes Chidinma Ejikeme, MD, and Kristen Herring, MD, to the medical staff.
Dr. Ejikeme, a board certified pulmonologist and internist, joins the McLeod Pulmonary and Critical Care Seacoast team that includes Dr. Melissa Miara, Dr. Kevin Dineen, Dr. Abhijit Mahalingashetty, and Sara Lara, FNP-C, in providing comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services. She completed her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Houston Methodist and her internal medicine residency at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in New Jersey. A native of Nigeria, Dr. Ejikeme began her medical education at St. George’s University before relocating to the U.S. in 2017. She specializes in advanced lung diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, lung nodules, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Herring joins the Palmetto Adult Medicine team of Dr. Harry Jordan, Dr. Andrew Reynolds, Dr. Hugh Stoddard, and Advanced Practice Providers Katherine Coffey, PA-C, Racheal Posey, APRN, and Emily Miller, PA-C. A South Carolina native from Latta, Dr. Herring brings a deep commitment to rural primary care and comprehensive adult medicine to the Sumter and Clarendon communities. She earned her undergraduate degree from Clemson University and her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) before completing her residency training through the McLeod Health Rural Residency Program at McLeod Health Clarendon. Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Herring also holds advanced certification in lifestyle medicine, with a focus on preventing and treating chronic disease through evidence-based lifestyle changes.
