McLeod Health welcomes Dr. Brian D. Blaker and Dr. Ryan Nance to the medical staff.

Dr. Blaker is an Interventional Cardiologist with the practice of McLeod Cardiology Associates in their Florence office. He is a TAVR Certified Physician and will join the TAVR Team of: Dr. Fred Krainin, Dr. Cary Huber,  Dr. Robert Messier and Ryan Hill, NP.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, Dr. Blaker received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine, Charleston, SC in 2012. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Colorado in Denver in 2015, and Fellowship training at the Medical University of South Carolina – Department of Cardiology in 2019.

As the son of Dr. Alan Blaker, Dr. Blaker is glad to return home to Florence and said, “What separates us from other organizations is that we maintain our core values when it comes to our focus on employees, family and patients. I am proud to now be part of an organization like McLeod.”

Dr. Nance provides obstetric and gynecological care at McLeod Regional Medical Center.  Dr. Nance joins Dr. John Browning, Dr. Brad Campbell, Dr. Eric Coughlin, Dr. Gary Emerson, Dr. Candice Greenan, Dr. Patricia Litts and Dr. Charles Tatum in the practice of McLeod OB/GYN Associates. A native of White Lake, North Carolina, Dr. Nance comes to McLeod following the completion of his residency training at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia.

“I first encountered McLeod during my OB/GYN rotation in medical school,” said Dr. Nance. “I immediately connected with the physicians of McLeod OB/GYN Associates, and returning to be a part of the team after completing my residency felt like a perfect fit.”  Dr. Nance enjoys traveling with his wife, Sarah Kate, and they look forward to becoming a part of the Florence community.
