New Family Medicine Residents

Dr. Caleb Newton was one of the 17 new incoming Family Medicine Residents recognized by current residents, faculty and staff at their Welcome Luncheon on June 6.  Dr. Newton has joined the McLeod Rural Residency Program in Cheraw.

The McLeod Family Medicine Residency Program welcomed 17 new Residents to its program on June 6. The new Residents for the Class of 2025 include: Dr. Jordan Glass, Dr. Kendall McDill, Dr. Harris Noor, Dr. Noah Novembre, Dr. Taylor Penny, Dr.  Alva Poulos, Dr. Rachel Putrus, Dr. Chelsea Thompson, and Dr. Nicole Vasquez Plaza. Joining the McLeod Rural Residency program in Cheraw are Dr. Stephanie Chaney, Dr. Cody Kidd, Dr. Caleb Newton and Dr. Amy Rathbone. New Residents joining the Rural Residency program in Clarendon are Dr. Charlotte Archuleta, Dr. Kristen Herring, Dr. Matt Jackson, and Dr. Jessica Thompson.

The McLeod Family Medicine Residency Program is designed to train physicians in an effort to increase the availability of family medicine physicians for patients in the 18-county region McLeod Health serves. After graduating from medical school, physicians who join McLeod for their residency receive a rigorous three years of training to prepare for their own future practice. Since its inception in 1980, there have been 276 graduates of the McLeod Family Medicine Residency Program with 60 percent of them staying in South Carolina and the McLeod Health service area of Northeastern South Carolina and Southeastern North Carolina.
