McLeod Health and McLeod Physician Associates welcome new physician Dierdre T. Young, MD. Dr. Young joins Dr. Joslyn Angus, Dr. Prakash Beeraka and Nurse Practitioner Allison Slice serving patients at Jeter-Skinner Family Practice.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Young treats patients with a broad spectrum of adult health care needs, ranging from primary care to more complicated medical needs including heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, kidney disease and multi-system diseases.

A native of Florence, Dr. Young comes to McLeod with 12 years of experience serving as a primary care physician, most recently as part of Sandhills Internal Medicine of Hamlet, North Carolina.

“I enjoy the complexity of internal medicine, of caring for people with a wide range of needs and concerns,” said Dr. Young. “What I most cherish is the opportunity to communicate openly and create relationships with those who entrust their health to my care.”

Dr. Young earned her Doctor of Medicine at Univ Autonoma De Guadalajara, Guadalajara/Jalisco, Mexico and the New York Medical College (Fifth Pathway) in 2003. She completed her Internship and Residency training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, New York in 2007.
