McLeod Health to Locate Medical Complex in Carolina Forest

McLEOD SEACOAST 25 NOVEMBER 2015

McLeod Health will soon open a medical office complex to provide the community with more convenient access to physicians and outpatient services
in Carolina Forest. This will be the initial phase of development of its McLeod Health Carolina Forest Campus, in addition to the current emergency department and other expansions underway at McLeod Seacoast also in Horry County.

The first two of a six building complex will be under construction in the weeks ahead, located on the parcel of land off of Highway 31, within the
Carolina Forest Town Centre. Building One will house a freestanding emergency center on the first floor and medical offices on the second floor. Building Two will be home to medical specialists on the second floor and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Services on the first floor.

The proposed facility and services, located on nearly 43 acres of land, will expand to meet the needs of adults and children and provide convenience to the residents within and around the Carolina Forest area. The property within Carolina Forest was identified because it offers a central location in the community.

The investment of land for this project was $4.78 million and the first phase of campus development is projected to be approximately $20 million.

Medical expansion in the region underscores the commitment of McLeod to provide treatment, services and health care that the people of Horry
County deserve, according to McLeod Loris Seacoast Administrator, Dick Tinsley.

"We are pleased to initiate the investment in these medical offerings for the people in our county. This type of facility will ensure the continuity of quality care expected from our McLeod Health system," stated Tinsley.

"At McLeod, our organization is committed to a mission of improving the health and well-being of our citizens. This mission which includes appropriate diagnosis and prevention of injury and disease," he added, "does not have to take place in a hospital setting. We are privileged to be a part of this effort to provide excellent outpatient services, greater access and convenience to area families."

Recruiting and providing outstanding physicians and serving the community is the primary goal, Tinsley stated.

At the completion of this project, McLeod Health Carolina Forest will become an integral part of a state-of-the-art healthcare system to meet the region’s medical needs.

In addition, McLeod Seacoast is undergoing substantial expansions and renovations which include a new Emergency Department, increasing capacity for more patients, operating rooms, and additional health care services.
