McLeod Health Recognizes Junior Volunteers for Their Service

This group of junior volunteers at McLeod Regional Medical Center were recognized for serving more than 100 hours each this summer. A total of 88 teens volunteered at McLeod Regional donating nearly 5,500 hours.

This summer, 176 teenagers ranging in age from 13 to 17 participated in the McLeod Junior Volunteer Program in McLeod Health hospitals across the region.

These teen volunteers donated more than 10,789 hours serving staff members, patients and visitors at McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon, McLeod Dillon, McLeod Loris Seacoast, McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Hospice, the McLeod Child Development Center and the McLeod Activity Center for Kids.

Coordinated by McLeod Volunteer Services, the McLeod Junior Volunteer Program runs from June to August and allows teens to serve in numerous capacities throughout the hospital. The program also provides teenagers the opportunity to determine if healthcare is a career they want to pursue after high school.
