CONWAY, S.C. (July 15, 2026) – The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Foundation received a $75,000 gift from McLeod Health as part of the organization’s $375,000 pledge made in 2024 to support the Nursing and Health Sciences Institute on the College’s Grand Strand Campus.
The 2026 contribution represents the third installment of McLeod Health’s multi-year support for the institute. The partnership reflects a shared dedication to preparing highly skilled nurses and allied health professionals to serve Horry, Georgetown and surrounding communities.
“McLeod Health is proud to continue investing in the education and training of future healthcare professionals through our partnership with Horry-Georgetown Technical College,” said Monica Vehige, CEO of McLeod Loris Seacoast. “Strong healthcare begins with a well-prepared workforce, and this continued support helps ensure students have access to exceptional educational opportunities while strengthening the healthcare system throughout our region.”
“This generous gift from McLeod Health reflects the power of strong partnerships and a shared dedication to improving healthcare throughout our region,” said Dr. Marilyn “Murph” Fore, president of Horry-Georgetown Technical College. “The Nursing and Health Sciences Institute was created to educate highly skilled nurses and allied health professionals, and McLeod Health’s continued support ensures our students receive the hands-on education needed to meet the growing healthcare needs of our communities.”
