McLeod Health Board of Trustees Announce Leadership

McLEOD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER 14 DECEMBER 2011

(12/14/11) – The McLeod Health Board of Trustees continues its commitment to providing outstanding leadership, stewardship and oversight of fiscal health. Effective February of 2012, with the onset of the new Board term, Thomas B. Richardson will begin his service on the McLeod Health Board of Trustees.

The McLeod Health Board is a governing team of professional leaders from throughout a 12 county region that includes seven physicians, including one emeritus member. The current McLeod Health Board Chairman is Kaye Floyd-Parris of Florence.

"We are extremely appreciative of the dedication and very hard work of these volunteer board members who embrace the mission of McLeod Health in service to the community and providing the delivery of excellence in health care," stated Rob Colones, President and CEO of McLeod Health.

According to Richardson, who has served for 15 years on the McLeod Foundation Board, "McLeod Health has so many talented Physicians, Nurses, Administrators, Staff and Board Members, and I am very proud of our Medical Center and privileged to be a part of its continued growth. I am honored to serve our patients, their families and our community in such a significant way. This is a compassionate and well managed organization, which is dedicated to the mission of improving the health of our region," stated Richardson.

Richardson served on the McLeod Foundation Board from 1996 to 2011, serving as chairman of the McLeod Foundation from 2008 to 2011. He is employed with BB&T Wealth Management, where he is responsible for the administration of personal trust and fiduciary services for the Pee Dee region. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Wofford College and a Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law.

He has served as a Vestry Member for St. John’s Episcopal Church, Board Member for the SC Planned Giving Council, and Finance Chairman of the Pee Dee Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He currently serves as a member of the Florence Rotary Club, St. John’s Episcopal Church, the South Carolina Bar, and the Alabama Bar.

He and his wife Kam have two children, Katie, a Junior at Clemson University, and Boyd, a Junior at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities.
