McLeod Electrophysiologist Dr. Rajesh Malik Speaks to Chicora Rotary

Dr. Rajesh Malik, an Electrophysiology Cardiologist with McLeod Cardiology Associates, presents to the Chicora Rotary on April 21.

Dr. Rajesh Malik, an Electrophysiologist with McLeod Cardiology Associates, visited Chicora Rotary on April 21st at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach. He presented to the group information about “Sudden Cardiac Death.” Dr. Malik also shared ways of being prepared if you or someone nearby has a cardiac event and how one may be able to step in and assist. In addition, he reviewed data with the group on different cardiac conditions and answered questions from the attendees.

A board-certified Electrophysiology Cardiologist, Dr. Malik received his medical degree from Armed Forces Medical Colleges in Pune, India, and performed his residency at Wayne State University, in Detroit, Michigan. He also completed a Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship and an Electrophysiology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond.

An electrophysiologist is a physician who specializes in evaluating the abnormalities of the heart’s rhythm. Dr. Malik serves as the Director of Electrophysiology for McLeod Health, and is one of two physicians at McLeod who deals with the electrical system of the heart — studying the electrical impulses of the heart.
