McLeod Darlington Hosting a Family Health Fair on August 7

McLEOD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER 27 JULY 2010

(7/27/10) – McLeod Medical Center Darlington is offering a free health fair for the community on Saturday, August 7, from 9 a.m. until noon on the hospital’s campus, 701 Cashua Ferry Road.
A grant from the McLeod Health Foundation is allowing the medical center to provide free health screenings for blood pressure/stroke, cholesterol, diabetes, PSA levels, skin cancer, diabetic foot care, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), breast cancer (clinical breast exam), hearing, and bone density as well as assessments for hypertension medications and fall prevention.

The following screenings/assessments require an appointment: skin cancer, diabetic foot care, clinical breast exam, PVD, hearing, bone density, hypertension medications and fall prevention. To schedule one of these screenings, please call McLeod Reservations and Scheduling at 777-2095

During the health fair, physicians and other healthcare professionals will provide brief presentations on several health-related topics including kidney disease, breast health, cholesterol, vascular disease, colon cancer, diabetes, diabetic foot care, coping tips for parents with children who have attention deficit disorder, and caring for children while also caring for your parents.

The family health fair will also include numerous activities for children such as:
