McLeod Clarendon Nursing Supervisor Honored with DAISY Award

McLEOD HEALTH CLARENDON 24 JUNE 2026

Congratulations to David Witt, McLeod Health Clarendon Nursing Supervisor, on being named a DAISY Award recipient. David was nominated by a patient’s family member for the exceptional care, compassion, and support he provided during a difficult hospitalization.

To recognize those nurses at McLeod Health who are true examples of Nursing Excellence, patients, family members, and co-workers may nominate nurses for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of The DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the extraordinary efforts nurses perform every day.

The nomination form read, “I am honored to nominate Nurse David for the exceptional care and compassion he provided to my mother-in-law during her stay in the ICU. Being hospitalized during the Christmas season is incredibly difficult, but Nurse David made a frightening experience far more bearable.

“He consistently went above and beyond to ensure her comfort, dignity, and peace of mind. His calm presence, gentle approach, and clear communication helped her feel safe and truly cared for. Nurse David also extended his compassion to our family, taking time to answer questions, offer reassurance, and make us feel supported during an emotionally overwhelming time.

“Nurse David exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding ICU nurse. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine concern left a lasting impact on our family. We are deeply grateful for the care he provided and wholeheartedly nominate him for this recognition.”
