Marcia Wilds joins McLeod Medical Center Dillon

"Marcie-Wilds"McLeod Medical Center Dillon is pleased to announce that Marcia Wilds, RN, has been named Associate Vice President of Patient Services.

Marcia has a Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, AX. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor of Art Degree in Psychology, both from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, NC.

"McLeod Dillon has a mission to serve the people of the community and the surrounding areas," said Marcia. "I am proud to join a team that offers patient-centered care. With a strong community presence and a focus on providing high quality care in a safe environment, it is obvious that McLeod Dillon strives to improve the overall status of the people it serves. I look forward to being part of this work."

Marcia most recently served as the Director of the Cardio-Vascular Day Hospital/PACU/Vascular Access Team at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC. "With over 20 years of experience in a variety of nurse leadership roles at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Marcia has a very strong reputation as a team builder with a focus on patient safety, quality of care, and service excellence," said Debbie Locklair, Administrator of McLeod Dillon.

In her new role, Marcia will function as the Chief Nursing Officer. "Nursing is a profession that embodies compassionate individuals who are called to serve others. I am passionate about that mission of service and approach it in a way that is patient-centered, quality driven and evidence based. Serving in this career also affords me the ability to meet people from every walk of life and provide them with the necessary tools to care for themselves," said Marcia. "The nursing profession has also provided me with opportunities to work on diverse teams that improved the way in which care is provided, which positively impacted the patient."

Marcia has been recognized in numerous ways for her accomplishments, including being selected as a SC Palmetto Gold recipient and a McLeod Health Merit Award recipient.

Marcia is a native of New Jersey. She was raised in Walterboro, SC, and currently resides in Hartsville, SC. She and her husband Elder Walter Wilds have one child, Jessica (age 19). Marcia enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, listening to music, and traveling.

Marcia is a member of the National Stroke Association and the Neuroscience Nurse Association.
