Mammography Scholarships Available for McLeod Mobile Unit Visit to Marlboro County in October

The McLeod Mobile Mammography Unit will visit Wal-Mart Bennettsville, 1250 Bennettsville Square, Highway 9 West, on October 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Women who meet the income guidelines below can receive a scholarship to cover the cost of their screening mammogram.

McLeod Mammography Scholarships are funded through generous gifts to the McLeod Health Foundation.

For many women in the region, access to a screening mammogram is being improved by the McLeod Mobile Mammography Unit, which each week travels to businesses, industries, health-care facilities, and health fairs. The unit provides a convenient, comfortable, and private setting in which women can undergo a screening mammogram (an X-ray of the breast used to detect breast changes in women who have no signs or symptoms of breast cancer).

To be eligible for a free mammogram on the unit, you must meet the following criteria:

  Family Size Annual Income
  1 $22,980 or less
  2 $31,020 or less
  3 3 $39,060 or less
  4 4 $47,100 or less
Note: Add $8,040 for each additional family member.
