The McLeod Mobile Mammography Unit will visit Wal-Mart Bennettsville, 1250 Bennettsville Square, Highway 9 West, on October 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Women who meet the income guidelines below can receive a scholarship to cover the cost of their screening mammogram.
McLeod Mammography Scholarships are funded through generous gifts to the McLeod Health Foundation.
For many women in the region, access to a screening mammogram is being improved by the McLeod Mobile Mammography Unit, which each week travels to businesses, industries, health-care facilities, and health fairs. The unit provides a convenient, comfortable, and private setting in which women can undergo a screening mammogram (an X-ray of the breast used to detect breast changes in women who have no signs or symptoms of breast cancer).
To be eligible for a free mammogram on the unit, you must meet the following criteria:
|Family Size||Annual Income|
|1||$22,980 or less|
|2||$31,020 or less|
|3||3 $39,060 or less|
|4||4 $47,100 or less|
|Note: Add $8,040 for each additional family member.|
Please bring a government issued picture ID to your appointment. Appointments typically last 15-20 minutes, and must be scheduled in advance. Space is limited.
