Leadership Florence Visits McLeod Regional Medical Center

The Florence Chamber of Commerce Leadership Florence class visited McLeod Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, November 14. During their visit, one half of the group experienced “The Journey of Care of a STEMI Patient” while the other half of the group experienced “The Journey of Care of a Stroke Patient.”

The two groups heard presentations from the following physicians during their visit to McLeod:
Dr. Jeremy Robertson – Emergency Care Provided to STEMI patients
Dr. Thomas Lewis – the Assessment and Care of a Stroke Patient in the Emergency Department
Dr. Anil Om – Procedures Performed in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab
Dr. Scot Schultz – Open Heart Surgery
Dr. Eva Rzucidlo – Vascular Care for Stroke Patients
Dr. Scott Allen – the Importance of Stroke Patients Receiving a CT Scans Quickly

The groups concluded their tours in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit with Sandra Bazen and the Stroke Unit with Wesley Jacobs, DNP, and Vicki Pigate. McLeod Air Reach and McLeod Heart Reach also made a surprise visit for the group.
