McLEOD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER 15 NOVEMBER 2019

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce Leadership Florence class visited McLeod Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, November 12. Jumana Swindler, Vice President of Communications and Public Information, welcomed the group and provided an overview of McLeod Health. Will McLeod, Vice President of Patient Services, then presented to the class on McLeod Regional Medical Center.

During their visit, part of the group followed the path of a heart patient from the Emergency Department to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Open Heart Surgical Suite as well as the Vascular Hybrid OR. The class heard from Dr. Thomas Lewis, Dr. Anil Om, Dr. Robert Messier and Dr. Eva Rzucidlo.

A second part of the class visited the McLeod Cancer Center. They received information on radiation oncology treatment and stereotactic radiosurgery from Dr. Rhett Spencer. During a tour of the Cancer Center, the group met Lauren Snipes, Robin Aiken and Pam Worthy who shared details on the HOPE Fund, infusion services and the many services designed to support patients including the Hope Resource Center, the McLeod Cancer Clinic and the “We’ve Got You Covered” program.
