Ian A. Clugston Named Director of Engineering at McLeod Dillon

McLeod Dillon is pleased to announce that Ian A. Clugston has been named Director of Engineering. "As an engineer, I have a very keen interest in how things work. This understanding is important in reaching the ultimate goal of ensuring a safe location for our visitors and employees."

In his new role, Ian will oversee the projects and operations of the department.

Ian chose McLeod Dillon because of the career opportunity and close proximity to family living in Sumter, SC, and Spring Lake/Fayetteville, NC.

Ian has a Master of Business Administration Degree from North Central College, Naperville, IL, and a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Alfred University, Alfred, NY. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY.

Ian has an extensive professional background. Most recently he served as the Division Engineering Project and Portfolio Manager with Corning Inc. Corning Environmental Technology. He is experienced in lean manufacturing (eliminating waste from a process), parts manufacturing, supply chain management, product development, quality oversight and has a proven track record in optimizing financial outcomes. He has international experience in his work to lead the start-up of a new facility in China.

Ian has four years of U.S. Army active duty experience, which he began when he was 17 years old. He also has six years of Army Reserve Drill Sergeant experience. He has also been involved in R.O.T.C. and served as an interior fire fighter in the Fire Department.

Ian is a native of New York. He enjoys spending time hunting, gardening and making home repairs. Ian and his wife Shelly have one child, Elizabeth (21 years old). They have served as a foster home for other children.
