(4/18/2013) The 2013 Loris Seacoast Healthcare Foundation Golf Tournament will soon be here, but it is not too late to participate. The tournament will be held Saturday, May 4, at Black Bear Golf Club.  Individual golfers and foursomes can still register for only $75 per person or $300 for a four-person team.  Fees include greens and cart fees, golf favors, lunch, drinks, snacks on the course and entry for door prizes.  Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.

Benefitting the Sylvia Kitchen Memorial Nursing Scholarship Program at McLeod Loris Seacoast, the tournament pays tribute to Sylvia Kitchen who served as director of nursing for many years.  After years of dedicating her life to helping others and encouraging young adults to pursue the profession of nursing, Sylvia and her family established the scholarship fund prior to Sylvia losing her battle with cancer. 

Over the years, the Sylvia Kitchen Memorial Nursing Scholarship Program has helped raise funds to support scholarships for local youth interested in pursuing a career in nursing.  A number of past recipients have completed their education and are following their dream of a career in healthcare right here in this community.
