(8/23/13)  The 5th Annual McLeod Health Foundation Ball, supporting McLeod Loris Seacoast, was host to a record 336 attendees, with contributions predicted to surpass years past. The event was held August 17 at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort.  

Guests enjoyed walking through the keyhole into an enchanting "Wonderland" where they gathered to raise funds that will benefit the Children’s Services Initiative at McLeod Loris Seacoast and provide the latest technologically advanced equipment for the Labor and Delivery department at McLeod Loris and the Pediatric Rehabilitation program at McLeod Seacoast.

"The 5th Annual Foundation Ball was a huge success. The Ball gets bigger and better each year. We had record numbers this year, in attendees and funds raised. As always, we appreciate the support of our sponsors and the communities we serve," said Kelly Hughes, Director of McLeod Health Foundation at McLeod Loris Seacoast. "This year, we are particularly grateful that we were able to raise funds for our children’s services programs. We will help provide the resources and equipment needed to better benefit each child whose life we are fortunate to be a part of."

Guests could participate in a large silent auction during a cocktail reception before enjoying an elegant gourmet dinner in "Wonderland" followed by entertainment and dancing to "Too Much Sylvia". During the evening, guests learned more about the Children’s Services Initiative and how the funds raised would benefit the program during a video presentation.

This year’s Foundation Ball Committee was led by Co-Chairs Rima Hulen and Jeri McDowell. Committee members included Diane Bast, Deb Bramlett, Roxanne Brewer, Faye Chowning, Jenna Cox, Anne Elliott, Leslie Elliott, Kathy Foxworth Garrell, Shannon Hardee, Jane Harvey, Mary Katherine Heniford, Kendall Khoury, Michelle Love, Charlene Lynam, Dolly McDermott, Toni Phillips, Heather Smith, Olivia Lake Stocks, Hazel Teal, Joyce Thomas, Emily Tinsley, Rebekah Wallace and Callie Wise.
