On December 11, the Florence Police Department honored the staff of McLeod Regional Medical Center with a presentation for their extraordinary service and caring to the officers and their families following the shooting event on October 3, 2018. Chief Allen Heidler offered remarks of gratitude and thanked each member of the team for their support in the department’s time of need.

Chief Heidler, members of the Florence Police Department and the families of the late Terrence Carraway and Farrah Turner then presented a large black and white flag with a blue line running through it that said “No One Fights Alone” to Trish Taylor, Nursing Director of the Trauma Surgical Care Unit. The plaque on the artwork read:

“Thank you to the McLeod Regional Medical Center staff for your dedication, professionalism and compassion extended to our law enforcement officers involved in the horrific event on October 3, 2018. You will always be remembered.”

Teresa Anderson, Vice President of Patient Services, thanked the Police Department for the recognition on behalf of McLeod Regional Medical Center.
