The 5th Annual McLeod Sports Medicine Symposium was held on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the McLeod Health Carolina Forest Campus. The annual event welcomed 25 certified athletic trainers from Horry, Florence, and Georgetown counties for a morning of continuing education and professional development.

McLeod Health Sports Medicine partnered with the Pee Dee Area Health Education Center (AHEC) to provide continuing education credits, helping attendees enhance their knowledge, skills, and clinical competency through evidence-based research and best practices. 

The symposium featured presentations on a variety of sports medicine topics, including Return-to-Sport Testing, presented by Dr. Jeremy McCallum, McLeod Sports Medicine Specialist and Surgeon, and Marc Cannella, McLeod/Benchmark Physical Therapist; Vestibular Rehabilitation, presented by Dr. Palmer Freshley, McLeod Sports Medicine Specialist, and Rachel Vojtek, McLeod Physical Therapist; Kinesiology Taping, presented by Ami Patel, McLeod Physical Therapist; and Back Pain Management, presented by Dr. Nathaniel Gasque, McLeod Sports Medicine Specialist, and Kevin Bullard, McLeod Senior Physical Therapist.
