(2/09/10) – Eagle 92.9 and 103X will broadcast live from the McLeod Children’s Hospital Child Life Activity Center for the 8th Annual McLeod Children’s Hospital Radiothon on Thursday, February 11, and Friday, February 12, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The live Radiothon will air on Qantum Communications stations WEGX Eagle 92.9 and WJMX 103.3.
All money raised during the McLeod Children’s Hospital Radiothon will help support specialized care, medical equipment, and programs needed in the treatment of critically ill and injured children at McLeod Children’s Hospital.

During these broadcasts, listeners will hear stories of local families whose children have benefited from the care at McLeod Children’s Hospital. Listeners are invited to make a pledge, call in, or visit the hospital to share their stories.

To kick of the Radiothon, Eagle 92.9 and 103X will broadcast the Jail-A-Thon live from Hardee’s at 5 Points in Florence on Wednesday, February 10, from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone and Darlington County Sheriff J.W. Byrd will be "locked up" in a jail cell at Hardee’s until $5,000 is raised.

That night, the McLeod Children’s Hospital and Qantum Communications will host a Radiothon Kick-Off and Change Cupids Wrap-Up Celebration from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Skateland USA, 125 N. Beltline Dr., Florence. Radiothon Change Cupids may bring their collected change to the celebration. The public is invited to roller-skate with the Change Cupids.

These celebrations will launch the 2010 McLeod Children’s Hospital Radiothon that will begin the next day.

Tune in to the miracles on February 11 and 12 and be a champion for children by listening to Eagle 92.9 and 103X and calling in your pledge to support the care of infants and children in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand regions of North and South Carolina at McLeod Children’s Hospital.
