Dr. Melissa Brooks, McLeod OB/GYN Dillon, recently earned her Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Brooks joined the Medical Staff of McLeod Dillon in July, 2014.

Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology demonstrates to the public that a physician has met the highest standards of their profession and its subspecialties. Board Certification is voluntary and includes an exam that tests a physician’s ability to diagnose and treat patients with a broad range of conditions.

Dr. Brooks received her degree in medicine from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, in 2006. She completed an OB/GYN Residency at West Virginia University in 2007 and Mountain Area Health Education Center, Ashville, NC, in 2010.

During undergraduate studies, Dr. Brooks received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Bridgewater College, Bridgewater, VA.

She became a physician because of her love for medicine. She finds it rewarding to help her patients feel better and let them know that they are cared about.

Dr. Brooks enjoys the great variety of women’s care available in the profession of obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Brooks is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
