On Wednesday, March 7, the McLeod Health Foundation hosted a Community Partners Program luncheon at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Community leaders were invited to join McLeod leadership and physicians to get a behind-the-scenes look at health care at McLeod.

The focus of the program was on Cardiac Services. The participants were able to follow a simulated heart attack (STEMI) patient from arrival at the Emergency Department via the Air Reach helicopter to the Cardiac Catherization Lab, the Hybrid OR and the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for recovery. Physicians presenting during the simulation included Dr. Jeremy Robertson, Emergency Medicine; Dr. Fred Krainin, Interventional Cardiology; and Dr. Robert Messier, Cardiothoracic Surgery.
