27th Annual Cancer Benefit Raises Nearly $160,000 for the McLeod HOPE Fund

Providing thousands of cancer patients in the region with assistance related to transportation, medications, nutrition and personal financial challenges, the McLeod HOPE (Helping Oncology Patients Everyday) Fund benefits oncology patient support services and provides oncology staff with improved access for immediate needs for their patients.

This is made possible annually through gifts directed to the HOPE Fund. Since its establishment in 2014, the HOPE Fund has helped more than 16,000 McLeod cancer patients.

Most recently, the 27th Annual An Evening of Hope raised nearly $160,000 to further assist patients through the HOPE Fund.

Held in September at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center, the event included inspirational video testimonials featuring McLeod Cancer Survivors Cely Anne Brigman, Twig Chestnut, Jamie Dyce, Calvin Smith and Sarah Stephens.

In addition, performances were delivered by entertainers Jerinda Davis; Andrew Poston; Kristen Hardaway; Cole Davis & Band; Landon Reynolds; Stephen King; and The cast of Six from South Florence High School.
