The Poynor School of Healthcare Innovation, a partnership with McLeod Health, opened for high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing healthcare careers earlier this month. Located in the newly renovated historic Poynor Building in downtown Florence, McLeod is now recognized on the portion of the building where some of the training labs for students are located.
The School of Healthcare Innovation program provides students with hands-on healthcare education and training that prepares them for immediate career opportunities after graduation or continued study in college-level healthcare programs.
McLeod Health and Florence 1 Schools teamed up to create this pathway for students who have an interest in careers in the medical field. McLeod medical professionals support curriculum development to ensure students gain practical, real-world skills that meet the workforce needs of the healthcare industry.
