On November 6, 2024, representatives of the Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) program with McLeod Regional Medical Center and the McLeod Health Foundation attended a press conference honoring recipients of 2024 Victims of Crime Grant Awards from the SC Attorney General’s Office. This is the third consecutive year the McLeod FNE program has received grant funding, which covers staff salaries and supplies. This year, McLeod received two awards: $163,907 through Supplemental Allocation for Victims Services (SAVS) and a new grant of $88,000 under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The Forensic Nurse Examiner program provides comprehensive forensic nursing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days of the year to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence in the region.
