Opens September 10

McLEOD HEALTH SEACOAST 7 SEPTEMBER 2018

McLeod Health Seacoast celebrated the completion of the new patient bed tower with the community on Wednesday, September 5. Multiple physicians with McLeod Loris Seacoast attended and participated in the ribbon cutting, with Dr. Al Logan, Chair of the McLeod Loris Seacoast Community Board, making the official cut.

The new patient tower will open on Monday, September 10. The 108,000 square-foot expansion gives residents in Horry and Brunswick Counties a new medical home.

The first floor greets visitors with an expanded patient registration area and includes renovated outpatient testing areas and rehabilitation services as well as business offices, a gift shop and a convenient concourse to access the emergency department and cafeteria. The second and third floors offer spacious accommodations with 36 patient rooms on each floor and clinical services strategically located nearby.

“This new tower is so much more than just bricks and mortar,” said Monica Vehige, Administrator of McLeod Health Seacoast. “These walls will house a place where lives are touched and healing begins. Our staff make a difference in people’s lives every day and this gives us the opportunity to do even more.”

In 2014, the McLeod Health Board of Trustees approved expansion plans for McLeod Health Seacoast to grow the 50-bed community hospital into a 105-bed state-of-the-art medical facility to serve the community.

“Our vision has been to grow McLeod Health Seacoast into a place that is better equipped to provide complex, high-quality care for residents along the Grand Strand,” said Frank Boulineau, Trustee of the McLeod Health Board. “McLeod Health’s commitment to Horry County is one of the largest financial investments this area has seen in a long time.”

Additional improvements to surgical services as well as the completion of a new cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology lab will be completed by the end of 2018.

“McLeod Health Seacoast is committed to improving and expanding its services and medical treatment available to families and residents who entrust us with their care,” added Vehige. “The transformation of McLeod Health Seacoast is our promise fulfilled to offer quality medical care to our community.”
