(April 7, 2026 – Loris, SC) McLeod Loris Hospital has officially opened a Fast Track area within the hospital’s Emergency Department.
This new space adds six additional treatment chairs, extending the total number of beds from 15 to 21, to ensure patients are seen by providers efficiently and more comfortably.
“As the Loris community continues to grow, the Fast Track space helps reduce wait times in the Emergency Department waiting room. The area includes comfortable recliners with privacy dividers, so patients can expect efficient, focused care in a more relaxed setting,” said Chelsea Karski, McLeod Loris Emergency Department Director.
In addition to the space and chairs, McLeod Health Loris ED has a nurse dedicated specifically to seeing Fast Track patients.
Fast Track will be used for lower acuity patients that seek care in the Emergency Department. The goal is to improve ED flow and safety by rapidly identifying patients needing immediate intervention, versus patients who do not need immediate intervention.
“This space accommodates the almost 30,000 patients we see each year at McLeod Loris Hospital. This enhancement supports McLeod Health’s commitment to our community, local people taking care of local people, with the highest quality care being our priority,” said Alison Potts, Chief Nursing Officer for McLeod Health Loris.
