McLeod Health Clarendon recently awarded a DAISY Award for outstanding service and care to Amy Baker, RN, with the Emergency Department. She was nominated by a patient for her extraordinary care and compassion.

A patient wrote, “Amy Baker was the nurse who administered the medication that helped save my life, and she remained by my side throughout the entire process. She explained every test that was done, every treatment I was receiving, and even through my admission she never left my side. She was a true guardian angel during a very frightening time.”

To recognize those Nurses at McLeod Health who are true examples of Nursing Excellence, patients, family members and co-workers may nominate nurses for the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.
