McLeod Health Registered Nurses Honored with DAISY Award

McLEOD HEALTH 31 MARCH 2026

To recognize McLeod Health Nurses who are true examples of Nursing Excellence, patients, family members and co-workers may nominate nurses for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the superhuman efforts nurses perform every day. Recently, three McLeod Nurses have been honored.

Judy Cribb, RN, a Staff Nurse with Pre-Admission Testing at McLeod Regional Medical Center, was nominated by a patient for her extraordinary care and compassion. On the nomination form, the patient wrote, “Mrs. Judy took time to pray for me, my family and my surgical team. It is rare to find genuine and compassionate people, especially when you’re a chronically ill patient. She and my surgeon put my mind at ease with their kindness, compassion and understanding. That truly means so much to me.”

Deirdra Hall, RN, a Staff Nurse with the Medical Surgical floor at McLeod Health Seacoast, was nominated by two of her former patients for her exceptional, outstanding and amazing service. “Deirdre is the most competent and most effective RN who delivered the best care. If anyone should be unfortunately hospitalized, I would wish to send them Deirdre, so the whole experience is made not just tolerable, but better for just having meet her. If there’s ever a model of the perfect nurse, Deirdre is it,” said one of her former patients. “Deirdre has been exceptional. She really cares about her patients, she listens and has so much compassion,” shared another patient.

Nissa Bethea, RN, a staff nurse on the Medical Surgical unit at McLeod Health Dillon, was nominated by a patient’s family member for her extraordinary care and compassion. The nomination read: “Nissa was my father’s nurse on multiple occasions and each time she cared for him with compassion, dignity, and genuine kindness. She didn’t just see him as a patient, she saw him as a person, and that showed in every interaction. In moments when everything felt heavy and uncertain, Nissa brought calm, warmth, and reassurance. She showed me that nursing isn’t just about medical care – it’s about presence, empathy and understanding the ripple effect illness has on families.”
