(9/13/10) – McLeod Health and She Magazine are once again partnering for the She Event, a fun-filled day of unmatched shopping, fun, and entertainment, paired with free and discounted health screenings and an abundance of health information provided by McLeod Health.
The She Event with McLeod Health is this Saturday, September 18, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Florence Civic Center. This year will be the most exciting yet, with a wonderful and interactive schedule of events.

This year’s theme is "A Pink Party!" with information about Health, Family, Home, Beauty, Fitness, and of course, plenty of shopping. We will also celebrate breast cancer survivors and provide education on early detection.

A variety of vendors, including those featured in She Magazine will be showcasing their unique specialty items. Highlights include our annual fall fashion show, yoga and Zumba fitness demonstrations, chair massages, a demonstration on decorating holiday items, and much more.

McLeod Health will offer free and discounted health screenings including blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, lymphedema, and skin cancer screenings. Look for the interactive service provided by McLeod Physical Therapy: "Avoiding wardrobe malfunctions – proper purse, shoes, and posture."

Health information offered includes topics such as cancer, maternity care, orthopedic care, psychology and mental health, hemodialysis, and diabetes, among others.

Also, as unintentional poisoning deaths and injuries are increasing nationwide, Safe Kids Florence, led by McLeod Health, and the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have partnered together to present Operation Medicine Drop. Operation Medicine Drop allows for the safe disposal of unused or expired over-the-counter and prescription medications with local law enforcement. Operation Medicine Drop will be held at this year’s She Event, and participants in Operation Medicine Drop will receive free entry.
