Skills Assessment Day Held for Project SEARCH Applicants

McLEOD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER 26 MARCH 2024

A prospective intern for the Project SEARCH program at McLeod Regional Medical Center participates in a skills assessment activity.

The McLeod Health Project SEARCH program offered in partnership with Florence 1 Schools continues to grow as we move into the sixth year of operation. The applicant pool for the 2024-25 Project SEARCH class is the largest to date. On March 14 the “Skills Assessment Day” was held at the McLeod Medical Plaza in Florence. This skills event is an integral component of the prospective interns selection process and allows applicants to demonstrate their current, and potential, abilities across a variety of employment-oriented tasks. Prospective interns move through eight stations focusing on transferable job skills, such as following directions, demonstrating organizational skills, and the use of functional social communication in the workplace. This event included staff from Florence 1 Schools as well as both Project SEARCH host business sites – McLeod Health and Raldex Hospitality. We look forward to welcoming the incoming class of Project SEARCH interns to McLeod Regional Medical Center this fall.
