McLeod Valve Clinic Team Celebrates Achievement with TAVR Patients

McLEOD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER 28 OCTOBER 2019

The McLeod Valve Clinic Team celebrated reaching the milestone of performing 125 TAVR procedures with patients who have undergone the procedure at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

On Monday, October 21, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) patients were invited to McLeod Regional Medical Center to celebrate with the McLeod Valve Clinic Team the 125 TAVR procedures performed to date.

The McLeod Valve Clinic Team returns patients diagnosed with valve disease back to a quality of life they can enjoy with the minimally invasive option of TAVR.

“Without you, we wouldn’t be here today,” said McLeod Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Fred Krainin to the TAVR patients in attendance Monday evening. “We appreciate you and your family entrusting us with your heart care.”

Dr. Krainin, who has been practicing cardiology for 30 years, explained that prior to the TAVR procedure there would not have been an option for many of these patients to repair their valve.

“We are grateful with TAVR they can continue to embrace life,” he added.
