McLeod Sports Medicine Expands to Five New Schools

McLeod Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer Tyler Saylor provided information on what an athletic trainer’s role is to parents attending the Lake View High School Open House on August 15.

McLeod Sports Medicine has expanded its athletic training services to five new schools throughout the region: Dillon High School, Lake View High School, Southside Middle School, Williams Middle School and Sneed Middle School.

McLeod Sports Medicine has 37 Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) on staff who provide medical care to athletes of 30 high schools in the counties of Clarendon, Florence, Darlington, Marion, Horry, Dillon, Lee, Marlboro, and Chesterfield. They also provide athletic training services to the Florence Red Wolves, Francis Marion University and Florence-Darlington Technical College.

The goal of an athletic trainer is to prevent injuries and provide timely access to care and manage day to day sport injuries to help keep athletes participating in their sport. Certified Athletic Trainers are state licensed and Nationally Accredited by the Board of Certification.
