McLeod Loris Seacoast Offers Lymphedema Screenings

McLEOD LORIS 12 JULY 2013

(5/20/2013) Lymphedema is the chronic swelling of tissue resulting in excess fluid deposited in the lymph nodes.  This commonly causes pain and swelling of portions of the body. Lymphedema affects more than five million people in the United States and can often be treated with physical therapy.  McLeod Loris Seacoast is offering free lymphedema screenings to the public on Tuesday, June 18, from 1:00-3:30 p.m., at North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center.

McLeod Loris Seacoast physical therapists offer lymphedema treatment through the physical therapy and rehabilitation program.  Clients that have had a mastectomy, surgery involving the lymph nodes, radiation, or even have experienced chronic swelling may be screened for lymphedema.  Lymphedema does not discriminate; it can affect both males and females of all ages.

For more information or to register for a screening appointment, please call (843) 390-8326.  Registration is required.
