McLeod Loris Names New Medical Director for Emergency Department

(5/9/2014)  McLeod Loris Seacoast is pleased to announce that Michael Morgan M.D. has been named Medical Director for the Emergency Department at McLeod Loris.

Dr. Morgan, board certified emergency medicine physician, is employed by EmCare, part of Envision Healthcare, the leading provider of emergency medical services in the United States. EmCare has partnered with McLeod Health to provide quality physician leadership backed by comprehensive support programs that allow physicians to focus on their patients and providing quality healthcare.

In his new role as Medical Director, Dr. Morgan will oversee the day to day functions of the emergency department, serve as a liaison for the other emergency room physicians, and work closely with the Director of the emergency department to find ways to continue to increase patient satisfaction.

"I was honored to be asked to serve in this capacity," Dr. Morgan said. "I like McLeod Loris. They do a lot of really good things here. I grew up in a small town much like Loris and understand the importance of the emergency department being a place that people can feel confident in coming to. My focus it to make sure our patients receive quality medical care and have a pleasant patient experience while they are here."

Dr. Morgan attended West Virginia University and went on to complete medical school at University of Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. He completed his residency at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center.

Originally from, New York, Dr. Morgan and his family wanted to move to a warmer climate near the ocean. He and his wife settled in Myrtle Beach with their daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys a variety of outdoor and athletic activities such as soccer, running, college football, camping, fishing and landscaping.
