McLeod Loris Director Receives Pee Dee Perinatal Award

McLEOD LORIS 19 DECEMBER 2012

(10/19/12) – In October, Teresa Bell, RN, received the 2012 Pee Dee Perinatal Award during the South Carolina Perinatal Association (SCPA) Business Luncheon, held in Myrtle Beach.  Bell has worked at McLeod Loris for 28 years and is currently the Director of Women’s Services.

This award is given annually to a person in each perinatal region throughout South Carolina who exhibits diligence and concern on behalf of mothers and babies.

“It is so touching to be recognized by my peers,” said Bell.  “I have received a great deal of help along the way.  I also work with a great team, and that makes my job enjoyable.”

Jeanie Beshere, Regional Systems Developer for McLeod Regional Medical Center, presented the award.

“Great Nursing Directors take pride in growing their individual staff members, and it gives them great honor to see each individual become successful.  This award recipient is that kind of director.  She makes a difference in the lives of mothers and babies because she makes a difference in the lives of her staff,” said Beshere.

Established in 1977, the South Carolina Perinatal Association strives to improve the health of pregnant women, infants, and children through educational activities and collaboration and advocacy with public policy makers.  SCPA has a long history of successful partnerships with many organizations on the local, state and national levels that have resulted in positive improvements for women and children in South Carolina.
