In 1950, a small group of concerned citizens and a local physician had a plan to build a hospital. Today, that vision has flourished and the tradition of partnership between McLeod Health and the local community continues to build a remarkable future together.

On Tuesday, November 11, McLeod Health Loris celebrated its 75th “Diamond” Anniversary of providing excellent medical care to the residents of Loris, South Carolina and surrounding communities. The Loris community and McLeod Health Loris staff gathered to celebrate this landmark occasion.

During the event, remarks were made by Donna Isgett, President and CEO of McLeod Health; Scott Montgomery, CEO of McLeod Health Loris and McLeod Health Carolina Forest; Ronald Fowler, Chairman of the McLeod Health Board of Trustees; Monica Vehige, CEO of McLeod Health Seacoast; and Reverend Charles Randall. Loris City Mayor Mike Suggs also presented a Proclamation to Montgomery and Fowler commemorating the occasion.

“Since our partnership with McLeod Health in 2012, we have continued to enhance our facilities and expand our services,” said Montgomery. “As part of one of the largest healthcare systems in South Carolina, our patients have access to world class physicians and state-of-the-art technology.”

To commemorate the McLeod Health Loris 75th Anniversary Celebration, a beautiful piece of artwork was unveiled, reflecting 75 years of pictures, news articles, and memorabilia. This 3-D work of art was created through collaboration with historians, past CEOs and Board Members as well as descendants.
