McLEOD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER 7 APRIL 2017

Tyler Mauldin was the overall winner of the 2017 Sporting Clays Classic.

The McLeod Health Foundation recently held its third annual Sporting Clays Classic, presented by Sportsman’s Choice Marine, to raise money for Children’s Services at McLeod Loris and McLeod Seacoast. Located at the Low Country Preserve in Tabor City, more than $35,000 was raised with more than 80 people in attendance.

“At McLeod Loris, we help bring new babies into this world, and at McLeod Seacoast Pediatric Rehabilitation, we help enhance the lives they live. The proceeds from this tournament ensure we can have the best equipment and most up-to-date training for our staff to ensure our pediatric patients receive the quality care they deserve,” said Kelly Hughes, Director of the McLeod Health Foundation.

Examples of the specialized equipment include O2 blenders, bili lights and hearing screeners for newborns, sensory equipment and iPads for pediatric rehabilitation patients and Broselow carts for the pediatric floors and emergency departments.

“The Sporting Clays Classic Tournament is a fun and competitive way to bring the community together for a great cause,” said Mickey Thompson, owner of Sportsman’s Choice Marine. “We chose to partner with the McLeod Health Foundation to support the children they treat at McLeod Loris and McLeod Seacoast.”

“The generous donations of this event allow the McLeod Health Foundation to continue to grow and provide the resources needed to benefit our pediatric patients and their families,” added Monica Vehige, Administrator and COO of McLeod Loris Seacoast. “

McLeod Loris Seacoast treats hundreds of children each year. From the smallest newborn babies to those nearing their teen years, McLeod Loris Seacoast’s goal is to make sure every child gets quality care when they need it most. The funds raised from the Sporting Clays Classic will purchase the equipment needed to support all children receiving care at McLeod Loris and McLeod Seacoast.

The tournament is made possible by the generous donations from the following major sponsors: Sportsman’s Choice Marine, Rivers Plumbing & Electric, Canal Woods, CresCom Bank, MagMutual Insurance Company, Pyle Financial Services, Project Services Group, Graham Golf Cars, Inc., Glass Connection USA, Williamson Printing, Atlantic Heating & Cooling, Hoskins Restaurant, Boulineau’s, Best Home & Property Services, Waste Management, Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley, LLC and SimplexGrinnell.
